Resin Patio Surfacing in Dublin
Resin bound surfacing gives you a smooth, permeable finish that suits patios and pathways down to the ground. The end result is hard wearing, easy to look after, and comes in a lovely range of aggregate colours, so there is something to suit just about any property.
Our resin specialists have completed hundreds of resin surfaced patios, and we can tailor any patio area to suit your needs in Dublin.
What Is Resin Surfacing?
We blend natural aggregates, usually stone between 2 and 6mm, with clear polyurethane resin, then trowel the mix onto a carefully prepared base. Once it has cured, you are left with a solid surface where the individual stones are still visible but locked firmly together. The textured finish looks great and feels comfortable underfoot.
A resin bound system is permeable, which means water drains straight through instead of sitting on top. That matters for drainage regulations and for everyday use too, as you will not be left with puddles after the rain.
New Resin Patio Installations
When we put in a new patio, we start by laying a porous concrete base. This gives the resin the stable foundation it needs while keeping the whole construction permeable from top to bottom. The concrete has to cure properly before we apply any resin, because rushing this step is what causes failures.
The depth depends on how the area will be used. Patios typically need 100mm of porous concrete with a suitable sub base underneath, and we always install it with the correct falls for drainage, even though the surface itself is permeable.
Resurfacing Existing Patio With Resin
If you have an old concrete patio that is structurally sound but looking a bit tired, it can make an excellent candidate for a resin overlay. We prepare the existing surface thoroughly by cleaning it, repairing any cracks, and applying a primer so the resin bonds properly.
We do not just offer unbeatable value on resin surfacing. We also provide other options such as porcelain tiled patio installations, sandstone patios and more.
